KULCHA-SHOK travel-books – travel literature on speed!

KULCHA-SHOK travel-books – travel literature on speed!

Love the smell of old books? Like the well-handled look of a book that has obviously seen decades of serious, but respectful, mileage? Ever handled a classic paperback and wondered where it’s been and through which hands it passed?

KULCHA-SHOK was set up as a result of a conversation in San Jose, Costa Rica, between a group of friends who had also wondered about these things and thought it would be interesting to try to find record the history of just a few random books.

If you have picked up a KULCHA-SHOK book it might be that it has already been handed on many times. Perhaps during its lifetime it has been read in more than a handful of countries.

Please check the relevant thread for your book and leave a note:
where did you find/get it?
what did you think of it?
where did you leave/give it?

If you want to donate a book to this experiment please pick a book you like – perhaps one of your all-time favourites. This is for books that ‘deserve to be read.’ All you need do is to write in the back:
“This is a KULCHA-SHOK book! Please take a moment to check in to http://kulcha-shok.blogspot.com/
to see where it has already been and to log its new travels with you.”
Then email for a password to set up a new thread here with the book’s title and author (check it isn’t already listed).
